Stress plays a major role in most of our lives. We can offer you a great escape and a wonderful relaxing experience. Massage therapy helps reduce stress and many of our sessions are geared towards stress reduction. We have therapists who specialize in stress reducing/relaxation massage sessions.
We pride ourselves in our work with specific medical conditions, which are often chronic. A chronic pain condition is usually defined as a condition that persists or recurs for indefinite periods, usually for six months or longer. Many times, chronic conditions can and do cause chronic pain. It often begins with an injury or an illness. Very often it can be accentuated or even begin with stress. Many times we cannot eliminate the cause, but very often we can eliminate the effect! We specialize in personalized treatment plans which is often needed for those with chronic pain conditions.
Our therapists have diverse backgrounds and therefore, we are able to offer a wide variety of different massage therapy modalities. All of our therapists are New York State Licensed and many are Nationally Board Certified. In addition, the director, Marla Kaplan-Pelle is a Certified Lymphedema/Lymphatic Therapist specializing in Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy. Our in house training program and continuing education in massage is the envy of the Island! We set the standard of care in the community!

Our Commack Facility
Our Commack facility has been completed, renovated, and designed specifically to meet the needs of our patients/clients. Our rooms are large and comfortable. We have 5 treatment rooms, which have been insulated to keep out noise and distractions. These rooms are where the majority of our sessions take place. In addition, we recently added another five treatments rooms, framed out only by beautiful, flowing curtains. However, these rooms are used for Spa Parties or couples only. In total, we offer ten treatment rooms, a Tranquility Waiting/Foot Soak Room and when our five new rooms aren't being used for a party, we offer a lovely, beautiful Couples Suite. We keep two rooms 'clean' of fragrances, plants, and/or other common allergens, for our allergy sensitive patients/clients.
We provide you with an atmosphere that we believe you will find warm and inviting, professional and clean. Our facility is completely handicapped accessible. Our staff is dedicated and knowledgeable. You will feel confident that you have come to the right place!
At its most basic a therapeutic massage can help ease aches and pains. At its most powerful it can transform your body and transport your mind. And now you can return to reality slowly after your massage in our Tranquility Room, which will make "Re-entry into Reality" transition a little smoother. We know that jumping in a car to drive home after a Massage Session can often take away from the wonderful experience your have just enjoyed. Well now you don't have to... Instead enjoy a cup of warm tea... experience a Foot Soak that will just tantalize your tootsies and stimulate your senses! Relax for 10-15 minutes, before you go and you will be surprised how great it feels!
In addition, don't hesitate to come by before your session or maybe you just want to de-stress without the un-dress without a session or maybe those little piggies have been pounding the pavement in Pumas or pumps and ohh, do they need some relief... well it's all okay, stop by and say, "hey" and relax and rejuvenate. Please keep in mind that The Tranquility Room is not available when there is a Massage Spa Party going on or any other event.
Recommendations: Wear pants that roll-up, bring a good book and change into sandals or flip flops if you plan on using the room in conjunction with a massage therapy session.

We have sought out different modalities that compliment our work. Namely, our AromaSteam, Herbal Wraps and Warm Paraffin Infusion. These new modalities are intended to improve the health of soft tissue... Naturally. In addition, you will find that they are very relaxing and feel absolutely wonderful!
What do these have to do with Massage Therapy?
Very often, we see and feel, the results of long term-muscle tension, injuries and neglected muscle tissue health. We break down, "knots" constantly. We reduce "trigger points" often. We reduce pain and discomfort by re-educating the muscle, improving circulation and moving out the "impurities" that manifest themselves in our soft tissues. Detoxifying results in lymphatic and circulatory stimulation assisting the body in draining fats and toxins, thereby improving one's health.
Heat is a wonderful modality onto itself. It draws blood into an area, increases circulation, makes soft tissue more pliable, relaxes muscles, and relieves pain. Heat, Massage Therapy and Detoxifying can work synergistically to improve the health of soft tissue.

Your Personalized Treatment Plan
A personalized treatment plan is designed just for you! Rather than a massage "routine", we determine a personalized treatment plan specifically geared towards your needs. The treatment strategy will take into account your problem area, your general health, your time constraints, affordability and of course, your desired goals.
We will try to pull together information to create an understanding of why you are experiencing particular symptoms and how therapeutic massage therapy may or may not help. This is not a diagnosis. It is more like putting a puzzle together. Many variables are taken into account. Some examples would be, the health of the tissue involved, how long this problem has existed, etc.
Massage Therapy has many wonderful general health benefits, but if you have a specific goal, such as symptomatic relief from a health related condition, then this would be the time to find out if massage can help you.
Treatment methods and goals may change. We will re-evaluate your personalized treatment plan as your state of health changes. We may find that with time, fewer sessions are needed, and different methods need to be used, etc. Again, there is no massage "routine".
Many times a Massage Therapy session can be 30 minutes long and involves doing specific, focused work. Very often, a patient will benefit from more frequent sessions, such as two thirty minutes sessions, rather than a single one hour session. Of course, this will depend on the person and the ailment that they are trying to resolve. One-hour sessions can be wonderful, but they are not always necessary in order to meet a specific goal.
A one-hour full body massage can enhance your general health and well being. This is enough time for a deeply relaxing session and possibly enough time to pay special attention to a problem area. One and half-hours will consist of a full body massage and focused work on a particular problem area, as well.
Having a personalized treatment plan will allow you to manage your own health. It will allow you to gain some control over your sense of well being. It will allow a partnership in which we work together toward specific goals and is designed just for you!
We offer 'preventative maintenance' packages. These discounted packages allow you to come in for 'regular tune-ups', instead of waiting for a problem to occur or recur. We encourage you to take good care of your health and we are willing to 'lend a hand', by discounting our rates and therefore, making it more affordable. We encourage you to take advantage of these packages!
Often some of the benefits that you obtain from your session can be applied at home. These benefits may include new breathing techniques, gentle stretches, and different methods you can use to help release tension, whether it is emotional or muscular.
Working "Hand in Hand" With Other Health Care Professionals
Medical professionals are becoming more knowledgeable about the benefits of Massage Therapy and Manual Lymph Drainage. Primary Medical Doctors, Internists, Orthopedists, Neurologists, Chiropractors, etc. are prescribing Massage Therapy for treatment of injury, pain and illness. Research has proven that Massage Therapy has been shown to promote healing of all types and therefore, is now earning itself a place in the traditional medical world. Many of these Health Care Providers are encouraging their patients to utilize Massage Therapy as a form of treatment. We accept most No-Fault Insurance. We are a provider for some HMO's. Please contact us to see if we are a provider for your particular HMO. We suggest that you call your insurance carrier to find out if Massage Therapy is a covered benefit when given by a Licensed Massage Therapist. If it is, find out if there are any requirements, such as a prescription. Should you find that Massage Therapy is covered, we will call to confirm it with your carrier. We now offer a NON-PARTICIPATING HMO RATE! In order to qualify, please obtain a prescription from your doctor. It is the same prices as the 5 session package rate, without buying the package.
